Summer Smoothie Bowl


Smoothie bowls – the perfect after school snack really for a summer day. Get the kids involved in making them – because their relationship with food and caring for themselves has to start in the home – not when they are 18 and are out there thinking McDonalds and pasta bakes are the answer… (Yep – that was me for a short crazy period!)


1- 2 cups of frozen berries

1 frozen mango

1 cup of baby/ english spinach ( you won’t taste it!)

1 scoop of protein powder ( I like fermented pea or rice powders)

1 teaspoon of coconut or flaxseed oil ( get the good oils in while you can!)

1-3 tablespoons of water or coconut/almond milk – depending on how you like the consistency


1-2 tablespoons of coconut flakes

1 tablespoon of hemp seeds

1 tablespoon on flax seeds

BLEND the frozen fruit etc and top with the seeds and flakes
